Use-cases Viable States

Viable States - Status Dropdown  can be used in various use-cases. Basically customers use it to change the status and the corresponding label on a Confluence page.

Status Reports

The Viable States macro is ideal for displaying status in status reports of a project. The State Swapper macro is ideal for displaying status in status reports of a project. It can be used to easily select and display the status of the entire project as well as the status of the relevant topic areas.

Document Management

The Viable States macro is suitable for displaying the status of a controlled document, e.g. a process description, a work instruction or a guideline. The status of the document can be easily selected and displayed.

Page Properties / Page Properties Report

Using Page Properties / Page Properties Report macro to a Confluence page. Please follow the instructions of Atlassian's official documentation.

The Page Properties and Page Properties Report macro work together to enable you to show summary information from one page on another page.  

To do this, a label must be added to this page and noted in the report macro. Since the Viable States macro allows you to set statuses while labels are set, all pages of a certain status (label) can be displayed in a page properties report.
